DLT Tape PreMastering SDK (Beta)

File Structure Overview

Under DDP 2.00, there shall have three streams to be recorded on the DLT tape. They are:

  • DDP stream

    • DDP ID

    • DDP MS (Control)

    • DDP MS (Main)

  • Control Data stream

  • Main Data stream

The ‘DDP ID’ stream describes the physical parameters of the disc. The DDPMS (Control) describes the basic file structure of Control Data stream. Likewise, the DDPMS (Main) describes the file structure of Main Data stream. Main Data stream is same as image file. It can be the image file either for layer 0 or for layer 1 only if the DVD volume is over 4.7 GB. The Control Data stream is a short stream that contains physical address information, Book Type, and Path direction. This stream may be recorded in the lead-in area on the final discs. The DDP stream is only providing reference material to the equipment and it shall not be included on the final discs.

In contrast, there shall be more files to be recorded under CMF 1.20 specification:

  • DDV stream

    • DDVID Packet

    • DDVMS (T5 Text) Packet

    • DDVMS (VOB Location Table) Packet

    • DDVMS (CPPM) Packet

    • DDVMS (Control) Packet

    • DDVMS (Image) Packet

  • T5TXT Data stream

  • VOBTBL Data stream

  • COPYPROT Data stream

  • CONTROL Data stream

  • IMAGE Data stream
