PlayList and PlayItem

A PlayList has one main path that provides a master presentation of the PlayList. The main path may have one or more sub paths that provide auxiliary presentations associated with the master presentation.

The PlayItem specifies a time based playing interval from the IN_time until the OUT_time. The playing interval refers to a single Clip when the PlayItem does not have a multi-angle structure. The playing interval refers to more than one Clip when the PlayItem has a multi-angle structure.

Each PlayItem shall refer to a Clip/Clips stored in the same BDMV directory as the PlayList file exists.

When a PlayList is composed of two or more PlayItems and the PlayList is set to 1 (“Sequential playback of PlayItems”), the playing intervals of these PlayItems shall be placed in line without a time gap or overlap on a Global time axis of the PlayList.

The Global time axis may be visible in the user interface on the system, and the user can command a start time of the playback on the global time axis to the system, e.g. the playback is started 30 minutes after the beginning in the PlayList.

When the PlayList is set to 2 or 3 (“Random or Shuffle playback of PlayItems”), the concept of a Global time axis is invalid for the PlayList.
